Certified Laughter Yoga Leader at Dr. Kataria School of Laughter Yoga

2010

Laughter Yoga was developed by an Indian physician, Dr. Kataria, in 1995. It combines laughter exercises (not jokes) with yogic breathing (and incorporates some stretching and meditation). It focuses on fun, eye contact, and "childlike playfulness" to elicit laughter. It is based on scientific fact that the body cannot tell the difference between fake and real laughter--so one can enjoy the benefits of laughter, even if you have to "fake it 'til you make it!" Having experienced the benefits of Laughter Yoga first hand, I am very excited to now be certified to lead others in Laughter Yoga!
